It’s not uncommon to see Nike incorporate an element of DIY craftsmanship into their footwear – the recently unveiled Air Max 1 “WABISABI” is already proof of that. And with this next Air Force 1, a silhouette that is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary, the brand shows its creative side even more.
Clad almost entirely in pink, the colorway blends familiar materials with rarer ones. Along the toe, heel, and eyelets, the pair uses typical smooth leather, which is pink only a few shades lighter than that of the Swoosh and heel tab. Similar tones mark the tongue, which is fairly standard in construction just like the aforementioned one. The same can’t be said for the center panel, as its weave complements the new cross-stitch branding that adorns the back.
For a look at the handcrafted side of the Air Force 1, check out the official images below. These should be hitting Nike.com and select retailers soon, so watch out for more updates.
In other news, the Oski Nike SB Dunk High is hitting stores very soon.
