This skill is kind of like a mix between the knitting skill and the painting skill. In fact, if your Sim has a great knitting skill, they’ll learn to cross stitch faster than usual.
How to get started with cross stitch in The Sims 4
To really delve into this skill, you need to start with the basics. It means buy you a Cross stitch kit and your first hoops.
You must first enter Construction method then go to the Category Hobbies and skills.
Get the Make It Sew cross stitch kit and you are good to go.
You can now buy as many Cross stitch hoops like you want.
You can also visit the garden shop in Finchwick and get the hoops straight from there.
Regarding the size of the hoop available, there are a total of three sizes of hoops: small ($ 30), medium ($ 40) and large ($ 50). Keep in mind that the models will be also requires you to own llama wool, that you can either buy at the garden shop Where collect from your own llamas at home. Owning Llama Wool will reduce the amount of money your Sims have to spend on a pattern.
Once you really get it right, you can decorate your house with your beautiful creations, give them to friends, or sell them at a profit on Plopsy – which comes with Nifty Knitting – or, if you have Set to work, you can even open a store where you sell your work. Who can learn to cross stitch in The Sims 4?
Any Sim of a child up can learn to cross stitch in The Sims 4. This means it is a rare hobby that covers all age groups, much like knitting. As long as you have the right equipment, any Sim old enough to be trusted with a needle can learn to cross stitch.
Cross stitch patterns in The Sims 4
There is a total of 64 different patterns that you can learn about cross stitch. In addition to this, there is the ability to embroider from baseline, similar to painting from baseline in the paint skill. This opens up a whole new world of cross stitch possibilities.
There are five different categories:
Phrases and mascots
Sims and animals
You will unlock Simple and Phrases & Mascots models as you level up. However, most models in the other three categories are unlocked via races or animal gifts.
Skill levels for cross stitch
In The Sims 4, there are different types of skills. You will only be able to improve most of the skills available in the game until you reach level ten, however, there is a group of skills that you can only increase until you reach level five, they are called minor skills. Cross stitch is a minor skill, so its maximum level is level five.
Each level will unlock the ability to create more complex and different types of patterns. Reach level five to unlock the “Point by Reference” option.
